Today’s photo comes from Patagonia, Chile. This is Tierra Patagonia Hotel & Spa, an upmarket hotel overlooking Lake Sarmiento and the Andes. It blends beautifully with the surroundings and I don’t think you can get an accommodation with a better view in Tierra del Fuego National Park. I wish I could say we stayed there, but because of the very hefty price, we only saw it from up there.
Just imagine having breakfast with such views or sitting in a hot tub, watching the sunset after a long day of hiking.
Built more than 150 years ago, U-Bein bridge is considered to be the oldest and longest teak wood bridge in the world. For tourists, the bridge is just a spectacular photo opportunity, but for the monks and local people it’s an important part of their daily life. Being so old and getting an enormous amount of traffic, it’s amazing is still standing. Although, it feels a bit wobbly at times.
The boats full with tourists line up to face the sunset, trying to get the best position.
I had to use the tripod for this shot, so taking a boat was not an option. Instead, i took my shoes off and walked through the sticky mud until I found the perfect spot.
Don’t miss a trip to Amarapura to see this one of a kind bridge, less than half an hour drive from Mandalay. Go earlier in the afternoon and visit the nearby villages for a genuine Myanmar experience.
It is now a little over one year since our visit to Morocco. Unfortunately, I didn’t have the time to write about our trip. We took this photo in Ouarzazate, while taking a camel ride in the western edge of the Saharan desert. On the way to our camp in the desert, we stopped on this dune to admire the sunset. Our young Berber guide was having a conversation with one of his camels.
While in Bagan, we wanted to visit a local market. It’s on top of our places to visit in any city. I think a market is giving you a real feel of the local atmosphere and vibe. Not to mention the colors and the people you see in any market. This lady was smoking her cigar while trying to sell some vegetables.
